Audits are part of a Quality checking. An audit activity ensures that the individual projects adhere to the Quality Policies and follows organizational standards.
Audit helps organization to assess the project with help of defined checkpoints which are accepted as a organization standards.
- Helps in process implementation check- Interpretation of the organization policies as per project requirements can be defined.
- As client or project demands to follow some different standard than defined by organization hence audit activities help to customize/define the process.
- Audits help to make a project a process centric rather than people centric.
- Audit activities are practiced in order to bring an organization to CMMi standards.
