CSQA Exam Queries
Hi,
I am preparing for CSQA exam and have few queries as below:
1. What is the passing percent?
2. From Jan 2008, we can take the exam online at prometric center. I am not clear how we will need to answer subjective paper - will it be paper exam or it will also be online? Did anyone give the exam online at prometric center?

To qualify for candidacy, each applicant must meet one of four prerequisites:
No formal proof of education or employment are required at the time of application; however the candidate may later be required to provide detailed documentation supporting the option selected depending upon a compliance sample selected according to program criteria. If selected for verification, such verification must be supplied to the program prior to sitting for any necessary examinations.

No the exam is not online in India yet.
And the format has changed and u need 75% over all , not in each section.
Yes U need to read the CBOK cover to cover very very well the whole exam will come only from the book .Nowhere else will the questions be from .All the objective as well as the subjective questions will be from the CBOK.
U need to do the entire CBOK throughly as the objective questions come from anywhere and they expect u to have read the book very very well.

Submitted by Vara Prasad on May 24, 2008 - 7:23am.When I took it in 1999, it was 70% for each of the 4 sections. It shouldn't have changed. I would think all parts would now be online. Sounds like an improvement I wish was there when I had to make a trip to take the test.
Good luck with the exam!

Submitted by akash_csqa on March 30, 2009 - 12:03pm.Hi Akash...
Weightage for both Subjective & Objective questions are same...200 for Objective & 200 marks for Subjective...
To be very honest with you...even when i gave CSQA...To my knowledge i found that even after reading CBOK 3 times...I could not recollect much points while attempting the paper...So at the end i had to put my own words plus few words from CBOK which i cud recollect...
So dnt worry...U have attempted all the questions right ?...So shud be able to clear CSQA easily...If u score good in the objective section as well...U can again easily sail thru ur exam...
Even when i gave both CSQA & CSTE ...After the exam i always felt that i may fail...Cause i was not happy with the way i had attempted subjective questions...But then i always had a feeling that since i have attempted all the subjective questions...There's a chance to pass the exam...And thats what happened...I easily cleared the exam...
So no need to worry...U would easily sail ur CSQA exam as i did...
Do let me know once ur results are out...
Hope i have answered ur question...
Do let me know if u have any other questions...

Submitted by Gats on September 22, 2008 - 4:02pm.Hi Gayathri - Thx for ur interest iN CSQA. C-BoK is the most important material/guide for CSQA Exam. However, you also need to read books on Quality (like Deming's, Crosby's,Roger Pressman's books) to augment your knowledge and also to score high marks.
Please write to me at r.suri@live.com for more details.
I am based in Chennai and I've been guiding aspirants for CSQA/CSTE/PMP/ISTQB from my residence for many eyars now.

Submitted by RSuriyanarayanan on September 23, 2008 - 4:14am.Hi Gayatri,
CBOK is the only source which would show the path for success. There's no need to refer to any other reference books.Almost 99% of the question would come from CBOK.U need to be thorough with CBOK.This would easily help u to clear ur exam.
Also i wud like to metion if u r thorugh with each domain...Objective questions wud be easy for you...Cause the Objective questions come directly from CBOK...Make sure u have reach CBOK atleast 3 times bfore u appear for the exam...
U did say that u r confused which material to refer...Please make sure that u dnt refer to any short material notes...Cause they are not much helpful...Its always CBOK which wud help u in the long run...

1) 75%(Aggregate of all the four papers. So even if u score less in one of the four papers and u score good in the other papers, the aggregate would be considered)
2) Exams in India are still not online.India,Brazil,China & Srilanka do not have provision for taking up exams online yet.U can visit the site www.softwarecertifications.org
