Getting certified always helps in three ways:

* Indication of a level of knowledge and competence
* Certification can be a deciding factor in hiring, promotion, and salary action decisions
* Re certification requirements are a spur to continuing education

CISA conducted by ISACA focuses on information systems audit and organizational governance. In today's day and age where customer in the offshore-onsite model are looking for better information security assurance, a CISA professional is much better equipped to act in the role of an auditor or a risk management team member/leader. I would beg to differ from a point that mentioned that CISA is applicable for people who are not allocated to a project. If you are a CISA you can definitely be assigned to project (in most cases more than one project) as a dedicated auditor. CISA is one of the toughest exams of the IT Industry and needs a set of criteria to be fullfilled before you attempt the exam. Please check www.isaca.org for that. Personally, CISA is on cards for me in 2010.
CSQA is a basic certification which is very useful in case you are in a QA/Process Consultant role in the company. It talks about 10 broad knowledge areas which cater to anything and everything regarding QA. I believe to have a CSQA certification is a must (to get a better understanding of the QA role and concepts) for anyone who plans to make a career in software quality/process management.

Actually CISA is not applicable if you are working specifically in projects. i.e. customer based. CSQA is based on the Project related with respect to the project. where as CISA is mainly on the informaiton system i.e. specifically on the management like financial structure, etc.., it applies on the whole management not specific to projects. CISA audits will happen mostly on the management side.
