Submitted by csqa on October 3, 2008 - 3:40pm.Hi Anuj....
I wud suggest u to go for CSTE...Since u r in Testing..Working as a QA Engineer.......CSQA is more of Processes....And CSTE is more of Testing......CSTE wud cover Testing concepts and few management concepts(Not Much)..If u r interested in Processes and have plans of shifting to QA side...then it wud be appropriate to go for CSQA
As far as study material goes...the moment u register for a exam(Take a exam date) u would be able to see ur CBOK(Study Material) online...Initially the candidate used to receive the study material by post after he sends his exam details thru fax..which no longer exists...Its now online...
If ever there's a road to success..Its by referring CBOK.....Jst refer CBOK....Make sure that u have read CBOK atleast 3 times bfore the exam date.....This wud surely help u in clearing ur exam.........No need to refer any other material other than CBOK.....
All The Best....
Do let me know if u have any other questions.

This is Sumant and wants to take CSTE in next month. As i have gone through your reply to Anuj you mentioned that when I register for CSTE i get my CBOK and is sufficient to score in CSTE. I would like to know whether this CBOK contains the complete study material and does it explains all the contents in the Syllabus. Please reply me in this Regard.
Thanks and Regards,
Sumant

Submitted by Sumant on November 18, 2008 - 9:57am.Hi Sumant
Great to hear from you that u r interested in taking up CSTE.CBOK(100%) covers the entire syllabus. There would be hardly any questions out of CBOK.But make sure you are thorough(Perfect) in each and every domain u have read.CBOK contains 10 domains.Questions would come from any of the domains.Dont leave any domain for option. If u r not thorough with any particular domain atleast make sure u have read it atleast once.
I would also like to say that if u r thorough in all the 10 domains it would be very easy for you to answer the objective questions. As i already mentioned CBOK is the only source which wud help you clear CSTE.100% dependable.
Sumant...jst wanted to know from you...U have said that u would be taking up the exam next month....Hope u have received ur CBOK and read all the domains atleast once...If i have not mistaken the exam is on 13th Dec'08...
One more tip..for descriptive questions...For each question u only need to spend 7 mins answering each....There are 10 questions in each(descriptive) paper set..The total time for each descriptive paper set is 1:15 mins..Jst wanted to say that cause my experience says that if u spend more than 7 mins answering each question u may land up in missing few questions at the end...So u need to have a proper time management right from the start especially in descriptive papers.
All the best !!!
Do let me know if u have any other questions.
