Hi Pankaj,
Im ISTQB certified professional. For more information on ISTQB u can visit www.istqb.org
there are various levels in ISTQB.First level is the basic foundation level for entry level testers. If u get thru that,u need not renewal it and is for ever. This exam completely comprises of objective type quns with different weightages. If u strictly follow the syallbi given in the site, that is enough.U can even download from the site.U have exam dates available along with the centres. If more members apply from same organization they conduct the exam in the company itself. Its not online test.Fees is Rs 4000/.U need to have 24 montsh of testing experience.
For further details: u can email to
vinay@indiantestingboard.com , pravesh@indiantestingboard.com

I would like to get an information on ISTQB -Advanced Level certification. I have heard that there are 3 levels of this (Functional Tester, Technical Tester & Test Manager) but when I tried to download the same from www.istqb.org it was mentioned something like the 3 levels are test analyst, technical test analyst and test manager. Can you please let me know if these two are the same and also preferrably which level should be taken first when certifying for the advanced level and which material should be used for preparation?

I have taken training for the ISTQB, purchased books to study for the exam and such. My issue is, I don't know if I should take the ISTQB exam or the CSQA. Every time I look for jobs, I'll see "prefer CSQA or CSTE" but never have I seen a request for an ISTQB certified candidate. Actually, most employers don't even know that it exists. Please advise. Which test do I take?

Submitted by pbsacct_1 on January 20, 2009 - 3:43pm.Hi pbsacct,
Can u let me ur name first...So that i can u with ur proper name...Any way in today's trend industry give preference to CSQA and CSTE associates than ISTQB...CSQA & CSTE are more popular in US...Where as ISTQB is more popular in Europe...ISTQB is a basic testing certifiation...Where as CSTE is much more advanced than ISTQB...
CSQA talks of processes...CSTE talks more of testing and few management concepts...So if u r in testing it;s better u opt for CSTE...ISTQB is also equally popular at an industry level...Infact u wud find many ISTQB Certified testers...
Wud suggest u to go for CSTE...Please visit the site www.softwarecertifications.org for more details on CSTE...
Send me ur email ID...So that i can send u the study material for the same...
Do let me know if u have any other questions...

For ISTQB u need not have any prior experience as such...For CSTE u need to have 2 years of experience(In Any Field)...Its's a pre-requisite for CSTE...
For ISTQB u can download the study material from www.istqb.in/
For CSTE please visit the site www.softwarecertifications.org...Once you register for the exam by paying the required fees(For the selected exam) you would get the latest CBOK...
Hope i have answered ur questions...
